Big Five Seminar/ Anti Bullying (extra credit)

I went to the Life Safari seminar and i was shocked to see how many people showed up to the event. I walked into the ballroom and took my seat. After a few minutes the author of Life Safari, John Strelecky came up on stage and gave his opening speech and told us a little about his life and how he started writing. Then he showed us a few videos one was a video clip of a comedian/ motivational speaker. He was talking to a group of kids about not giving up on things; this man had no arms and no legs and he got on his stomach and said "Now it looks like i can get up right? But i'm not going to give up." So he proceeded to get back up and it was just one of those moments when you feel like, if he can still have hope in his situation then why can't I. The next video was clip of the Oprah Winfrey show, followed by a video of a man that wanted to travel around the world so he did and he recorded videos of him dancing in every place and soon after Stride gum started to play him to continue to do his traveling. This video lead to him talking about our big five for life; this man just went out to try and complete one of his big five and ended up getting payed to do it. He told us to just try to complete your goals and you never know what might come from it. So next he had us to talk to the person next to us and tell them what are big five for life are then we had to tell one other person we didn't know what are big five were. He told us that you never know what could happen just by telling someone what your big five for life are the person you tell my just be able to help you complete that goal. After our activity he made a closing speech then he signed autographs for many of the people there and he gave out two books, The Why Cafe, and How to be Rich and Happy. At the end i had the chance to talk to him and i told him that his book was good and it reminded of a book that i read a long time ago called the secret, he told me that he had also read that book and thanked me for saying his book was good then we shook hands and i left.

Also on one of the last days of comp class i was thinking about what we would be doing that day and when i walked in i just know that it wasn't going to be a normal day because there were to girls standing at the  front of the classroom. When we sat down they said that they were part of an anti bullying program and that we were going to do some activities that have to do with the program. So they moved the tables and put a piece of tape on the ground and told us that they were going to ask us question and if there related to us then we can stand on the line. So they asked and we did it after that asked us to write something nice about everyone in the class and i must say i wrote the nicest things about everyone. Once that was over Elisa brought out pie for everyone then all the girls started to cry and eat, but not me cause i'm a man but it was still a good class and i enjoyed the activities and i enjoyed the time i spent with everyone in that classroom and i'll never forget it.

Year 2041

Its the year 2041 and i now work for Sony Entertainment's development branch, i also have two kids and a wife.

I wake up to the sound of yelling and jumping, i can only assume its my kids so i reach over and grab my Sony Ipad22 (Yes Sony owns Apple now) and touch the app that lets me yell at them from anywhere. So after i've stopped them from making all that noise i look over at my wife who of course has her Sony noise canceling headphones so she didn't hear a thing (huh women) good thing i'm responsible. Anyway next i clap my hands and three of the new Sony Robocons come into the room and say, "What can we do for you sir" i told the first robot to help my kids get ready for school, i told the second one to cook breakfest, then i told the last one to carry me to the bathroom get my toothpaste ready and start the shower. After my shower i go to my Holographer which can make it look like your wearing any type of clothing when you could actually be wearing just a plain white shirt and some blue jeans. So once i'm dressed i get on my floor and i say floor go to the kitchen and my floor moves me from my room to the kitchen. I get to the kitchen to some nice Robocon food and make sure my kids are ready for the day because i can't let my robots do everything for me. At 9:15 my Sony Holowatch displays a picture of the weather outside and the traffic on the airways. At 9:30 i have my Robocon carry me to my Ford LightSpeed which has the new technology that allows me to fly to work. So i get the car started then i set it to autopilot so i can watch the news on my internal Sony Holotelevision. When i get to work i scan my eye so that i can get into the building then i walk to my desk and plug myself into the system. To example its a plug that we put into our heads that lets us work at double the speed; after a hour of work the day is done and i'm get to go home. But before that i want to stop by the Waltarpublix store, it has everything and you by everything online and its delivered to your house in two hours so much for small stores right? So i make my way home and due to all the harm done to the Ozone back in 2011 the day ends at 12 o clock. I walk into my house have my Robocon make dinner eat with my family then let my Robocon carry me upstairs give me a shower and carry me to my bed where i go to sleep.

Ape Skunk......oh my bad Skunk Ape.

When i first heard about this assignment i thought it was going to be research on a skunk ape, whatever that is. But then i learned that it was an assignment for research on the library and how to use it for papers and other things. So i thought it would be pretty cool to do because i didn't know to much about the schools library. So i took the pretest and as i looked at the questions i thought that the test was dumb but i still kept hope. After i finished i saw that i didn't do to good so i looked at some of the modules to get so help. But after all that i thought that my way is so much easier. My own way of studying and doing research is to use books and maybe some online articles so by the time i got to the post test i was over the whole thing.

Three things i already knew were that magazines on newsstands aren't a good source for research and that newspapers are better. I knew how to find  books in the library and i knew how to plan out my papers, and how to cite books and websites.

Three things i didn't know were things like how to use the libraries website. I knew how to look for background things before hand but i just don't no it a lot. I didn't know what the answer to the question about the word that starts with L i'm not sure what it was because i couldn't find it.

Overall i didn't really like the skunk ape research but it could be helpful to people that don't know how to write papers very well or just people who would like to know how the libraries website is used. But for me it was mostly just some pointless stuff (no offense) it just wasn't helpful for me.

The Big Five

My big five for life are.....

1.) Graduate College

2.) Get a job that makes me happy

3.) Make enough money to live life the way i want

4.) But my mom a new car or house

5.) Have a family

My first goal is to graduate college because with a college degree. I can get a good job and i have a better chance at that job being one that i enjoy going to everyday. Also i would make my family proud that i went off to school and finished.

My second goal is to get a job that makes me happy. I always hear about how much people hate their jobs; but then i hear about people who love their jobs. When ever i ask them what makes their job so great the answer is because they enjoy going there everyday. I couldn't image going somewhere for 8 maybe 10 hours a day and hating it. My mom, aunts, and uncles always told me to go to school and get a degree that way i can get a job that pays well and i won't have to work so hard.

My third goal is to make enough money to support the life i want to live. Basically i want a nice size house in a good neighborhood, a nice car, and i want to be able to buy things that i want when i want them. I don't want to have to live paycheck to paycheck because then i'll have to watch what i spend and how i spend it and by doing that i'm limiting the things that i can do in life.

My fourth goal is to buy my mom whatever see wants or needs, because she took care of me and paid for me to go to school. So with the money i'm making i want to be able to make things easier for her.

My fifth and final goal is to have two kids so that they can have someone as they grow up. I'm an only child so when i have kids i would like them to be close. I don't really want to get married because a lot of well shit goes down when you get married or so I've heard. It just seems easier to not get married and just stay together plus that way you don't have to worry about getting a divorce or getting half of your stuff taken; i mean my god it just really seems unpleasant in almost every way.

So those are my big five for life and hopefully i will be able to achieve everyone of them.

Its good for you; Just don't get caught!

This is a topic that i'm sure everyone's heard about at one point or another; and that topic is should marijuana be legalized? Its easy to look at it in good ways especially if your a teenager, you have so many people around you doing it and telling you how good it is and how chill it makes you. Then you hear all the adds and things telling you that weed hasn't ever killed anyone or gotten them addicted.
But then on the other hand you see on the news and other television networks shows people of all ages getting thrown in jail for using marijuana and all the non smoking ads that are shown. If you think about it though their only talking about Cigarette's not once have i seen a pot we'll kill you and make your body rot commercial. All i'm saying is that there can be many ways to go about this subject, i'm going to leave you with a few images and you tell me what you think.

A Changed Earth (Extra Credit)

A few things have changed since I did my footprint. Since then I haven't been on the bus. I have just been walking to class everyday and not relying on a car to get there. Which was one of the big factors in how many earths I used. I've only filled the trash can in my room up three times which has lowered the amount of trash I dump. I have been eating more vegetables but I still have been eating packaged meat. It was already paid for and I don't have the money to buy the healthier stuff. One major part of my footprint was my power usage. I use a lot of power and I suggested unplugging things that I wasn't using at the time; but things didn't work out either because I forgot to unplug them or didn't feel like doing it at the time. But other than that I think my footprint would have gone down by at least one earth, I hope. In the fall I will hopefully be able to make some time to do some community work which we'll most likely involve improving the earth.

Do you Live Under a Rock?

There are a lot of commercials out there, but even with all of them i'm sure you've seen many Geico commercials. Most of them have the lizard or the guy asking you a question that you've heard before then flashes to a  clip of that saying. This particular one made me laugh and it kind of made me want have some of their insurance. http://youtu.be/rCFMDLakxaY

The purpose of the commercial is to make people who haven't heard of their insurance savings feel like they've been missing out.The audience is everyone who doesn't have their insurance. The product can be sold to anyone over the age of 18 that needs it.
